  • Charlotte Mailliard Shultz, California’s Chief of Protocol, and her staff have their offices in Stanford Mansion.

  • Among the initial guests of the State received by Governor Schwarzenegger at Stanford Mansion are: His Excellency Vicente Fox, President of Mexico; His Excellency Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic; His Excellency Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister of Sweden; His Excellency Fidel Ramos, former President of the Republic of the Philippines; and Members of Parliament, the California Supreme Court, and legislators. A Today Show interview with Governor Schwarzenegger was filmed there, as were several historic bill signings. Senate President pro Tem Don Perata and Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuñez frequently use the Mansion. That was just the beginning.

  • Protocol brings leaders together to discuss important issues of mutual importance for the benefit of the people of California, because:
    • California is in a bare-knuckles competition in the global and national marketplace for the attention of major businesses and investors.
    • New business development, international trade, and jobs are keys to California’s economic future. It is also imperative to work closely with resident firms to make sure they stay.
