The Leland Stanford Mansion Foundation |
Our Mission
In 1990, the nonprofit Leland Stanford Mansion Foundation was formed by private citizens to help the California Department of Parks to save, renovate, maintain and appropriately use the historic Stanford Mansion.
The official purpose of the corporation is:
“…to develop and carry out a cooperative, public/private fund-raising campaign to fund the rehabilitation and furnishing of the Mansion; to promote and participate in other selected projects in support of the Mansion; to provide for an endowment fund to support historic preservation and research at the Mansion; and to promote and support official protocol use by the Office of the Governor and Leadership of the Legislature, as well as public education and enjoyment of the Mansion, its architecture, and the history of its occupants. ?lt;/p>
